Ok, Ok, how do I join your silly little proxy?

Edit your dnetc.ini as follows:

[networking]
nofallback=true
autofindkeyserver=no
keyserver=rc5proxy.bbrrc5.org:2065
'nofallback' is optional, but in the event this site is down, it will queue the blocks.

Why do some people seem to update every few minutes?

By default, the client will crunch everything it has, and then send it. However, you can configure it to have a set number of blocks, but send when it has blocks ready.

[rc5-72]
fetch-workunit-threshold=200
This controls how many blocks you have cached. Typically this should be a few days worth.

[misc]
project-priority=RC5-72,OGR=0,OGR-P2=0
run-work-limit=0
This controls how many blocks you keep before they are available to send.

[buffers]
frequent-threshold-checks=3
This will make the client talk to the proxy if you have completed blocks, or need blocks to fill the cache.

Huh? I don't follow all that!

Ok.. here, use this for your dnetc.ini.

[parameters]
id=The email address you use for dnetc

[misc]
project-priority=RC5-72,OGR=0,OGR-P2=0
run-work-limit=0

[display]
progress-indicator=auto-sense

[networking]
nofallback=true
autofindkeyserver=no
keyserver=*:2065;216.27.160.99

[rc5-72]
fetch-workunit-threshold=200  // make about 3 days

[logging]
log-file=0
log-file-type=rotate

[buffers]
frequent-threshold-checks=3

I have blocks, but I think I'm showing up as 'hidden'.

Unless you want me to, I'm not going to show your email address, therefore it is hidden until an alias is created. Eventually, this will be done via and email exchange, but I'm not there yet, so you must contact me via IM, or I'll find you.

What's running all this?

Apache with the JK connector.
Tomcat 5.0.27.
MySQL 4.1.20
Coded using IntelliJ IDEA.
